Dont Get Yourself Excluded From Insurance Coverage

Every personal auto registered in Massachusetts today is controlled by the standard Massachusetts Automobile Insurance Policy, 8th Edition. It is the so-called “plain language” policy and contains certain exclusions of which you should be aware. For example, if you own your car but rent another vehicle for an extended period of time or regularly use a housemate’s or family member’s car, and then get into an accident, the coverage on your own car may not apply since you regularly use that other car but are not paying a premium for same.

This may not seem like a big deal until you are being sued and ask your own insurance company to provide coverage and they decline since, at the time of the accident, you were driving a vehicle which you regularly used.

It is obviously best to seek the services of an experienced attorney who is knowledgeable in the field of insurance coverage so that you are assured of maximizing your recovery and/or being fully covered in the event you are sued.
